"Where the scarf of the Chiltern hills slopes steeply down to the veil of Aylesbury, one of the oldest rural crafts in England still survives... but only just." The unchanging craft of the chair bodger is that of turning legs and rungs for wooden chairs. It is handed down from father to son and even experts have difficulty distinguishing between work done today and work done a century ago. BBC Television Newsreel reports from the Chilterns, where two local brothers - Owen and Alexander - might be the last of the real chair bodgers.
