"Butterfat" is written by Steve Khan and was originally performed by David Sanborn. „Slang Funk“ is a new and exciting collaboration between British saxophonist Frank Mead and German bassist and music producer Peter Muller. They have worked together for more than 15 years in the studio and on stage. Having supported each others solo releases, they both felt that the time was right to join forces and present the funkiest parts of their music to live audiences. The name „Slang Funk“ perfectly describes the music, a non-standard spin on roots funk, played with passion, fire and soul. „Slang Funk“ as a band operates with a pool of established European groove players, consisting generally of a core of five musicians (drums, bass, guitar, keys and sax). "The Slang Funk Session" are recorded rehearsals which took place in Hannover, Germany on 5/6 April 2016.
