In this video, we're sharing a childhood memory of maizena porridge. Maizena is a comforting, nostalgic dish that we all love. Whether you're from Puerto Rico or not, Maizena is a dish you'll want to try! This recipe is easy to make and perfect for a cold winter day. So if you're looking for a recipe that will make you feel warm and happy, please check out this video and give Maizena a try! NOTE: The longer it sits the thicker it will become. If placed in the refrigerator Maizena can double as pudding. Adding some vanilla extract or coconut flakes to it will make an amazing pudding. I also have a video on TEMBLEQUE which is a Puerto Rican Coconut Pudding using Maizena or Cornstarch. • How to Make Tembleque Puerto Rican Coconut... YOU WILL NEED: 2 CUPS OF MILK 1 CUP OF WATER * YOU CAN ALSO USE MILK ONLY AS LONG AS YOU HAVE 3 CUPS OF LIQUID* 1 PINCH OF SALT 1/4 CUP OF SUGAR 1/4 CUP OF CORNSTARCH CINNAMON FOR DUSTING A MEDIUM SAUCEPAN (2 qt. Calphalon saucepan with lid) WHISK START by pouring all of the ingredients into your saucepan except for the cinnamon. Mix well until the cornstarch has dissolved completely. Once it has dissolved, turn your stove on to a medium heat and stir vigorously with a whisk or spoon for approximately 10 minutes or until you reach your desired thickness. Once your Maizena is done, pour it into a bowl and sprinkle it with some cinnamon. If you put it in small ramekins and place it into the refrigerator, you will end up with a pudding. (I usually add a teaspoon of vanilla extract into mine if I want a pudding). I hope you enjoyed this video. Don’t forget to LIKE, SHARE & SUBSCRIBE.
