This song was written to me about a year ago, during a time when I was also grieving the loss of a dear friend. Navigating through that grief and depression was incredibly hard, but this song became a source of comfort for me. It’s filled with deep emotion and truly represents what I’ve been feeling inside. Throughout this journey, I’ve learned that the toughest battles are often the ones we fight within ourselves. I wanted to offer a different perspective: even when we have so much love to give, it can be challenging to express it if we haven’t first found that love for ourselves. Our internal struggles can profoundly affect how we communicate and connect with others. I want to take a moment to thank Yee Vue Yang for helping me film the music video and Yankee Seng for being my male actor. Thanks to my fam as well for being part of my MV. Despite our busy lives and the cold weather, we made it happen together. This was our first experience directing and filming, and I’m really proud of what we accomplished.
