As I drove through the mountains of Nagano, I began to feel the air slowly change. The temperature dropped a little, and a crisp, clear freshness flowed into the car — a sensation that gently eased not only the tension of filming but also the fatigue of the lingering summer heat. As the mountain road wound on, the path would occasionally narrow, and signs of human presence gradually faded. Then, on my right, I noticed a sign that read “Hichi Ō Daimyōjin Shrine” and decided to pull over. The torii stood by the roadside, in a spot that made it easy to imagine the shrine lying just beyond. All around, the soothing sound of flowing water filled the air. After a light bow with my hands together, I stepped through the torii. Immediately to the left stood a temizuya(purification basin), and I could tell that its water was drawn from the same stream running nearby. Walking along the approach, tall cedars lined both sides of the path, quietly declaring this to be sacred ground.Further ahead, the shrine building came into view — a structure that bore the weight of countless passing years. Weathered by wind and rain, it exuded a fragile yet powerful sense of life, a presence both ephemeral and enduring. This, too, is a cherished place for the people of the region —a quiet sanctuary, devoted to stillness, and a sacred refuge that watches over all who come to visit. 📍Place Please be quiet when you visit. https://maps.app.goo.gl/UTaLLUD7imgni... shooting equipment camera body SONY α1 (ILCE-1) lens SONY SEL2470GM2
