We begin with the story of the air defense of Malaya and Singapore, which relied on the RAF, RAAF, and RNZAF airmen of four squadrons using the Buffalo. This video sets the stage for the campaign, examining the formation of the Far Eastern Command's fighter arm and some of the larger defense organization that it was part of, as well as some specific problems with the aircraft and the Allied militaries involved, as well as a brief survey of the weapons of their Japanese adversaries.
