Conference Championship previews and more this week on EA Sports Radio! The headlines of the week are as follows... Both the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots have the chance to re-write the history books. These two teams have a decades long rivalry as historic AFC East foes (Miami joined the AFC South in 2006), but with a berth in the Super Bowl on the line, this game means everything. The stakes are simple. For Miami, it's a chance to return to the top of the NFL landscape. For New England, it's a 4th Super Bowl trip and a claim at the "greatest team of all time." Writers are saying it could be "the most intense game in history," but we'll see if it lives up to the hype. On the NFC side, both Philadelphia and Seattle rallied to earn last second wins. With the game in Philadelphia, home field advantage could play a HUGE role. Will it? We'll certainly find out! Tony seems to like the Eagles' chances. Both franchises have recently made it to the Super Bowl and lost, so redemption is on the table, if whoever wins can seal the deal at the end. The Falcons, Lions, Chargers, and Bengals are all in end of season mode, with disappointing final losses and the crushing reality of beginning all over again. The other teams have been in the offseason for quite some time. The Giants announced the hiring of Jon Gruden. Baltimore fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan (brother of HC Rex Ryan) and hired John Harbaugh. Mike Tomlin replaces Bill Cowher in Pittsburgh. Jason Garrett and Jack Del Rio are Co-HC/coordinators in Dallas. Tampa Bay and Jacksonville are still in the market for a new coach. Tony Dungy has yet to decide whether he will return in 2008, but Colts owner Jim Irsay is giving him all the time he needs, per sources. Buffalo won't make any hirings until the team is sold, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, reported here exclusively. Tom Coughlin could be a candidate, the source also said. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier in the week that Hard Knocks would be expanding to a season long, 32-team format in 2008, after following the Chiefs in 2007. Head Coach Herm Edwards believed it was a competitive disadvantage for the Super Bowl XLVI champions, who went first-to-worst in 2007. They have the number one pick in the upcoming draft. Now, cameras will be in the facilities of all 32 franchises, which should remove any distraction, since no one knows what will be used or when. However, it's likely that the more competitive teams will receive the majority of the air time. Music featured: "Out Here All Night" by Damone (from the album "Out Here All Night" and the game's soundtrack) "Waiting" by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (from the album "Don't You Fake It") Produced by Chris D'Avanzo.
