I'm Brian from Autoscope in Plano. Today, we have a 2021 BMW 330 that the client drove into some deep water, and the engine will not turn over now. To start with this vehicle, we removed all the spark plugs from the engine and then turned the motor over to evacuate all the water from inside the cylinders and inside the intake manifold. Oh. And once that was done, we changed the oil to eliminate any moisture inside the engine. Where the oil goes, put new spark plugs in it. Put everything back together. And now the vehicle is running and driving after our initial test drive. We brought it back in and looked everything over. If there is still a little moisture left in the engine oil. So we took the car on an extended test drive to run it at full operating temperatures, to evaporate any moisture left inside the engine, and then brought it back in and did a second oil change on it afterward. Now, the second oil change is done. The car's ready to go. This client got very, very lucky with this vehicle. Generally, when vehicles run into high water like this, and the engine is hydraulically locked, it damages the internal engine. Your best bet is if you see deep water, don't drive through it. If you're not sure how deep it is, assume the worst. Assume it will be very deep, turn around, and find another route.
