Leatherman invited me up to see their facility and how they make their tools. So Olivia and I left Southern California and headed up the 395 so we could camp and go offroad on our way to Portland. This would also be our first real test of the new Falken Wildpeak RT01 tires we had just put on. I was so impressed with how well they handled both on and off the road. They have all the benefits of an All-Terrain on the road and all the advantages of having a Mud Terrain when off-road they're really great tires. They weren't loud, they tracked well and supported the weight of our big van so well. We aired them down to about 18 psi when wheeling and the grip even on the dusty rocks was awesome. Once we got to Leatherman we were able to see the new Leatherman Arc being made and had Tim Leatherman himself give us a tour. Let me introduce you to the crew. First up, we have the man himself Tim Leatherman, founder and original designer of the Leatherman. Followed by his son Lee Leatherman, the director of the company’s special projects. Next, we have Ben Rivera, CEO of Leatherman, and Billy Meiners Social Media and Marketing Manager. From the invitees, we have Tate Morgan from The Gambler 500. The Gambler 500 Rally is a mostly off-road Rally-Style Navigational Adventure using cheap, impractical, or fun vehicles to run through the country, picking up trash and removing abandoned vehicles and boats. Alicia from the Ladies Motoshow and All Women's motorcycle show based in LA. Emmie Speranedo who’s a rancher based out of Montana who lives out of her horsetrailer with all her pets including a bison. Micah, aka Overlandunderbudget, who’s got an awesome Instagram and YouTube all about building and modifying your vehicle on a budget. Unfortunately, wind and rain cut our trip short, and we weren't able to ride the Mammoth Bike Park or camp anymore. We had a great time on the way up and at Leatherman though I can't wait to head back up to Oregon when there aren't any wildfires! 00:00 - Intro 01:12 - On the road 02:45 - Morning camp 04:56 - Offroading back to the highway 06:55 - Camp night 2 09:04 - Leatherman Tour 17:19 - Lava Bed Caves 19:00 - Camp night 3 21:46 - Outro
