Extremely Drunk Woman Crashes into Police Officer's House and Flees the Scene

On September 13, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officers responded to a hit and run accident. The reporting party, a New Mexico State Police Officer, claimed a vehicle crashed into his garage door and fled the scene. He was following the suspect vehicle in his unmarked patrol vehicle. Rio Rancho Police Officers located the suspected vehicle, which crashed into a small tree. The 39-year-old driver was ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint. Officer Haughney arrived and conducted a Driving While Under the Influence (DWI) investigation. The woman was too intoxicated to complete 2 of the 3 standardized field sobriety tests. As a result, she was placed under arrest and was transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station. She agreed to provide breath samples and the results were 0.26% and 0.27% BAC.
