Later in the chapter, Haggai reminded them that holiness is not automatically transferred, but defilement spreads—calling them again to purity. God promised to bless them from that day forward as they obeyed. Finally, God gave a special message to Zerubbabel, saying He would make him like a “signet ring,” symbolizing God’s chosen servant and the coming Messianic hope.
