A routine speeding stop in Brook Park, Ohio took a sudden turn when another driver rear-ended the officer’s patrol car. The woman behind the second vehicle appeared confused and unsteady, prompting officers to begin a full impaired-driving investigation. During the field sobriety tests, she struggled to maintain her balance, could not complete the walk-and-turn, and ultimately needed assistance just to walk back to the patrol car. She was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle while impaired. The charges forwarded include driving under the influence, a reported blood alcohol concentration above .17, and assured clear distance ahead.
