The attack occurred during an argument with two passengers aboard the “Chandor” ferry on Thursday evening. One of the accused assaulted the worker with a sickle, leading to a manhunt. Goa police acted swiftly, arresting one accused, Aniket Navelkar, from the Navelim-Sakhali area. The second accused, Rupesh Naik, was hiding in a dense forest near Padoshe and was later arrested by a special police team. The weapon and the vehicle used were seized. Both suspects have been remanded to 6 days of police custody.
