Why Your Moisturizer is Harming Your Skin!

Did you know that putting oil and moisturizers on you skin can be harmful? Watch this video to learn why dermatologists recommend skin hydrators over moisturizers . Water NOT oil is what your skin cells need to stay healthy and hydrated. Skincare products that stimulate your skin cells to bind and hold onto water is what you need. Oils and moisturizers only passively and artificially make the surface of the skin feel hydrated but is does nothing down below in the deeper layers of the skin where it matters. Ingredients like ceremides, GAGs and vitamin A are needed to stimulate the deeper layers of the skin to stay hydrated, healthy and young. Putting oil or moisturizers on the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin only going to tell the dividing cells down below to stop working and holding onto water. After fellowship, I was appointed the Director of Dermatologic Surgery at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Northern California where I remained active in clinical trials and have been on the forefront of the latest advances in aesthetics and dermatology. As an Orange County native, I love the SoCal community and currently enjoy being a Dermatologist in Newport Beach, CA. My areas of expertise include cosmetic dermatology with a focus on injectable neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin), as well as dermal fillers (Juvederm, Voluma, Volbella, Vollure, Sculptra, Restylane, Belotero, and Radiesse).
