After a few lineup changes, the band eventually solidified as Bill on guitar, Al on vocals, Brian Marshall on drums and Rick Abbott on bass. They existed from 1992-1996 (with occasional reunion shows since) and toured the USA three times in the ensuing years and broke up in 1996… They played shows with Aus-Rotten, Casualties, Blanks 77, Banner of Hope, Bouncing Souls and Voodoo Glow Skulls. In 2002 The Pist reformed to play two reunion shows with the Unseen when the New Haven club "the Tune Inn" closed… Members remain active in the punk scene in other bands. Their music was political hardcore in the anarcho-punk tradition... They had gotten rave reviews from MMR and other underground punk tastemakers… They had released an excellent EP “Destroy Society” and a couple of splits... They were completely out of step with the popular punk sound of the time, with their angry attitude, choruses you could shout along with and nothing approaching harmonies… Almost every one of their songs was railing against something... It was political without being pretentious. It was pure righteous rage in musical form... The band was genuinely committed to their causes at a personal level and seemed to live the credo espoused by DOA many years earlier. The album “Ideas are Bulletproof” is their masterpiece, raced through 19 songs in 33 minutes, every one of them is definitely worthwhile… Was recorded with minimal production… It sounded good and you could hear everything well, but there was almost no polish, so it may sound a bit crude to modern ears.
