In 2010, an e46 M3, named Jezebel, undertook a massive rebuild by Goch & Cooper in Cape Town. This rebuild included forged CP pistons, HPF conrods with crower rod bolts, ARP L19 Head studs, VAC Motorsports coated high performance big end bearings. VAC Motorsports oil pump gears to distribute more oil quickly throughout the engine. The crank was balanced and the bore expanded to 87.5mm. The engine was a masterpiece. Its purpose was to be boosted and create an e46 M3 with amazing power and reliability. The engine ran beautifully and revved up smother than a babies bottom. 2012, Jezebel was sent to Sav Speed to have valve clearances checked and adjusted as per routine. Four days after returning from Sav Speed. she dropped a valve in cylinder 6 and required a rebuild. Sav speed would not accept responsibility for the dropped valve. Tune Tech would not work on the car. BMW wanted to charge a fortune. Out of desperation, Jezebel went to an independent shop in Boksburg called G-tech. Possibly the biggest mistake I have ever made. Gtech was commissioned to replace the damaged piston and fix the cylinder head. Also, they were meant to install Vac Motorsport high performance valves. They ended up breaking the valve cotters. They were unable to fix the cylinder head. A new one was acquired. the engine was reassembled in such a ridiculous manner. Missing gaskets and bolts. She bled oil for months. The car was hardly driven till money was raised and a proper engine master could be found to fix her. This is her reawakening. #S54 #BMW #M3
