Pixie Ear deformity is a condition wherein the earlobe becomes attached and pulled downwards during a facelift and/or necklift, possibly due to skin shortage-related tension. This condition can be caused by a variety of things, though in this lady’s case, it is difficult to tell since there was no information given regarding what occurred during surgery. Pixie Ear deformity can be addressed quite straightforwardly by two modes of approach: (1) Allow 3-6 months until the maximum pull has diminished, and if there is enough skin, elevate the skin and restore the connection in a way that does not cause any tension or downward pulling, thus resetting the earlobe. (2) If there isn’t enough skin to elevate, simply detach the earlobe, roll it under to create the look of a normal detached earlobe, and close the area underneath to give it nice definition.
