Staff credentials - Does the rehab facility have doctors, nurses, counselors that are experienced with your specific addiction? Some substances such as heroin, prescription opioids and alcohol have severe withdrawal symptoms. 3. Individualized treatment plan - Is the rehab treatment program personalized? In many cases an addict started abusing the substance by self medicating for a disorder such as depression or anxiety. An individualized treatment plan will tackle both co-occurring disorders and substance addiction. 4. Drug or Alcohol Detox - How is detox achieved? Are drug or alcohol detox medications used to treat withdrawal symptoms? Or is it completely holistic? 5. Medical conditions - How are underlying medical conditions treated? Extra curricular activities - Drug and alcohol rehabilitation is not only about group or one-on-one therapy. Activities such as yoga, exercise, games, work, hobbies, etc. are imperative to rebalancing your life. 10. Family therapy - Addiction affects the addicts family; thus, family therapy sessions are a good way to re-establish relationships. 11. After inpatient rehab - What happens once I’m done with inpatient rehab? A good rehab facility will also offer outpatient rehab in order to help you continue with your sobriety. 12. Cost and Insurance - What does rehab cost and do you take insurance? The best rehab treatment centers will work with you to get your rehab costs paid. 13. Success rate - What are your success rates? Success rates may be skewed; therefore, it’s important to ask for real data, testimonials, or contact info of alumni.
