Kathy Reichs in conversation with Xanthé Mallett at the International BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival 2020. Kathy Reichs’s first novel Déjà Dead catapulted her to fame when it became a New York Times bestseller and won the 1997 Ellis Award for Best First Novel. She has now written over twenty novels that have been translated into thirty languages. Reichs is a forensic anthropologist, one of only a hundred ever certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology, and is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at UNCC. Dr Reichs has testified at the UN Tribunal on Genocide, aided in the identification of war dead, and assisted in the recovery of remains at the World Trade Center following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival runs events all year covering the wide world of crime writing. Find us at badsydney.com or on social media @BADcrimesydney.
