WLP001 and WLP002 Triangle Taste Test

I know I think I know how these two yeasts taste. I know that I've had loads of beers with either or yeast. I've even done some experimenting years ago with blending both yeasts at the same time in the fermentor (long before White Labs and MoreBeer started putting them in the same vial!!!) http://www.morebeer.com/products/whit... But I honestly can't say I've ever made one wort, split a batch and tasted them both side by side. So in this weeks video we finally get around to tasting some fine;y fermented beers with both yeasts. Its a WLP001 and WLP003 Triangle Taste Test. The recipe was pretty simple: 10lbs American Pale Ale Malt 2lbs Rahr Pils 1lb American Caramel 60L 2 oz Cascade (5.5%AA) FWH 1oz Cascade (5.5% AA) 5 min Split wort into 3 gallon fermentors added one full vial to each. We both give it a go with a blind taste test (thanks to the wife for doing the pouring). Who gets it right? Who gets it wrong? We run a blog as well!!
