It analyses why projects finish late even when all the individual tasks are protected by safety buffers. It describes the PERT formula (Project Evaluation and Review Technique). It describes the Student Syndrome and Parkinson’s Law. It talks about the importance of planning and why it tends to be neglected. It argues that Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) is perfectly compatible with traditional professional recommendations such as those of the Project Management Institute’s PMBoK (Project Management Body of Knowledge).
