During the awards ceremony for the 96th Oscars, Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling, who both star in the new action film "The Fall Guy" (2024), a remake of the 80s TV series of the same name with Lee Majors, thanked the stunt community for their efforts. What some consider a great tribute to the brave men and women of the stunt industry was seen by others as a slap in the face - because to this day, there is still no Oscar for stunt work on film.
