Instagram Live from December 19th 2024. The diagnosis of FND, like many other neurological disorders, is based on positive clinical signs. But given the history and stigma—clinicians sometimes do weird things. Like they don’t share the positive signs with a person Or maybe they don’t even tell them what it is And if can really feel like a “wastebasket” diagnosis. And FND is NOT! It is a diagnosis made based on positive clinical findings (of which there are SO MANY—I shared a lot in this live today!) In this live video we talked about: What are the positive diagnostic signs for FND (and highlight key findings for subtypes—seizures, weakness, tremor and dystonia) How there are positive physiological signs for functional myoclonus and tremor How FND is not a purely psychological disorder. And I shared a bunch of resources that you can use for yourself or your next doctors appointment! Would love your thoughts, questions and comments below. (And I will send out all of the articles, resources and videos in our newsletter this week, comment newsletter to join!) ____________________________________ Want to work with us?
