ENT Surgery – II is the continuation of the sqadia.com lecture ENT surgery– I. Their indications, contraindications and operating techniques are also pursued respectively. ▬ 📌 Inferior Antrostomy Intranasal inferior meatal antrostomy is a process of making an opening in the nasoantral wall of the inferior meatus by intranasal route. Then focus is shifted towards indications and contraindications. Subsequently, light is shed on the technique to carry out inferior antrostomy. Postoperative bleeding and injury to nasolacrimal duct are the complication associated with it. ▬ 📌 Caldwell-Luc Operation The process through which the inside pathology of antrum is dealt by making an opening in the maxillary antrum is referred to as Caldwell-Luc Operation. It is indicated for deviated sputum, recurrent epistaxis. Local or general anaesthesia is used. Then, talking about the technique, Killian’s incision and transfixion or hemitransfixion (freer’s) incision comes under consideration.
