If you ever get stuck needing Raw Sienna, learn how to make something very similar in this colour mixing tutorial. It's a yellow neutral, almost a yellow-brown. Golden and muted and depending on the brand, it could be opaque or semi opaque. Useful for landscapes and portraits of people, pets and wildlife. It's a bit more neutral to Yellow Oxide/Yellow Ochre so if a student doesn't have one, we can usually substitute the other. But since this is all about Raw Sienna, what if you don't have it and you need it? No, you don't need to run out and buy it and in this video lesson, I will show you how to use different mixes to create something close. I would appreciate your help with some feedback, so after watching the video, if you can let me know in the comments section if Raw Sienna is something you could find yourself using as is, or save some money and mix it up using something close to what I showed. Boy that was a mouthful! In closing, if there is a topic you'd like me to cover or need help with something specific, reply to this email and let me know. This is what I used in the video: Surface: 140lb Watercolour Paper (you can use anything that is white and that accepts acrylic paint) Palette: DecoArt Traditions Phthalo Blue – DAT24 Napthol Red Light – DAT03 Hansa Yellow Light – DAT15 Yellow Oxide – DAT12 Raw Sienna – DAT43 Titanium White – DAT35 Palette: DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics: Burnt Sienna – DMFA02 Ready to try this? ------------------------------------ Subscribe to my channel so you don't miss anything! https://goo.gl/NF5Vj3 ------------------------------------ Side Note: My videos are geared towards beginners and intermediates. I talk throughout the process to make it easy for you to understand. I avoid speeding up the videos and mistakes are not edited out so you can see how to fix it if it happens to you. In doing this, the videos are a little bit longer.
