Most important move to practice on Owl (father) is the high monk stomp on his sweep. Treat all divine abduction moves as sweeps (so jump). For the jump back firecrackers best response is double dodge forward which always work but be ready to respond on his next move. Beginners tip: If you havent experienced the sweep where I use high monk start by reacting to it with just a jump stomp, advance into cancelling it with whirlwind slash and then high monk (each with a tighter window to react and input). Later on when you get the new spear prosthetics cancelling the sweep with spears and following up with chasing slice is one of the most consistent ways to deal huge hp damage.
