The Disappearance That Shook The Country of Ireland | The Case of Philip Cairns

For 13 year old school boy Philip Cairns, the 23rd of October 1986 was an ordinary day; after going to Colaiste Eanna he left at 12:45 to have lunch at home with his family, and then left again at 13:30 to go back to school. However, Philip was never seen again after this. After being reported missing by his parents Alice and Philip Sr., the Gardaí began searching for any eyewitnesses or clues to where Philip was. Six days after Philip was reported missing, his school bag was found in an alley which had been searched before and had found nothing. The bag was also dry, despite the fact that it had rained throughout the week. Two books were taken, but everything else remained. These are currently the only pieces of evidence in the case.
