For as long as I can remember, music has always been one of my biggest passions. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to play along with all my favorite artists and songs, only I needed to choose which instrument I'd be playing along with...in my heart of hearts, I always knew I'd pick the drums. I began how most drummers do - I signed up for some drum lessons at my local music store. Months and months of tediously slow tempo'd rudiment based exercises and basic drum beat practice later, and I was finally ready to start playing along to songs. That’s when I truly started to fall in love with this instrument. Over the years, it became a source of comfort, challenges met, and life lessons learned. From middle school to high school I was a pretty casual player - played in a few bands, and mostly just having fun writing songs, and emulating the great John Bonham's play style however I could. College is when I really started to take playing seriously. I decided I wan't to master at least one thing in this life, and that "thing" was pretty easily chosen. Only problem was I had a lot going on in my life competing with my drum time - college classes, baseball, social life, and ultimately staying focused and motivated. Luckily I'm someone who likes to keep busy, so I found a way to put the extra time in. I went back for lessons and poured myself into the process mentally, emotionally, creatively, and physically. After years of dedication, self doubts, studying, playing in bands, jam sessions, laughs, gigs, hiatuses, blood, sweat, tears, procrastination, and failures, I’m happy to present to you my first official drum cover under my HIGHLY UNDERRATED Youtube channel, JamJockey. Moving forward, the main objective is content consistency. That hasn’t always been one of this channel's strong suites, but I’m committed to releasing drum based content at a pace that I can handle while maintaining a healthy work/life balance on top of being a new father 🐥. If you’d like to support the channel, kindly subscribe and share this video around to anyone you think would enjoy it. JamJockey is more than a passion project to me at this point, and given enough support and time, the sky is the limit for this channel — and I truly believe that. DISCLAIMER: Not every video will be as polished or heavily edited as this one. Some content will be simpler, some will be one-shot takes, some will be shorter clips or solos. The production level may vary — but the drumming, camera angles, and sound quality will always be something genuine and quality. Thank you so much for watching, and don't forget to do all the YouTube stuff if you liked what you saw (like, comment [let me know what songs/artists you'd like me to cover!], and subscribe)! I’m so excited to finally have this project firing on all cylinders again, and after 22 years of playing, I've never felt more ready to keep this train moving. Hope you enjoy the ride 🤘🔥 — Chris JJ DRUM COVER #1: SONG: Heavydirtysoul ARTIST: Twenty One Pilots #drumcover #drummer #twentyonepilotsdrumcover
