This is a fan-made remix of John Foxx's classic dystopian synth track released in 1980 as a single and also features on his classic debut album called "Metamatic". "No-One Driving" reached number 32 in the UK charts. I have been asked to do John Foxx a few times. I have done "Underpass" previously, but thought it was time to do another one. Specially, @Nervejam asked for this song quite a while ago. Thanks for your patience. I hope you like this version. We can all try and guess what the song is all about, but "No-One Driving" is almost certain to have been influenced by the writings of JG Ballard and more specifically his book called "Crash" which is a crazy, disturbing and yet enjoyable read. When doing a bit of research about John Foxx prior to releasing this video I found out that John Foxx's Dad was a coal miner, but more interestingly he was a pugilist too. And, John Foxx's mother was a millworker. Who would have thought from these humble beginnings in northern England that one of the UK's synth pop legends would emerge. I was too young to see John Foxx perform in 1980, but I remember going to see John Foxx at a secret gig in Crewe probably about 20 years ago. It was announced on myspace and was a warm up for a forthcoming tour. It was in a venue that you had to pass through a working man's club (I think) in order to get into it. There were probably 12 people at the gig and it was excellent. I cannot find any listings for it now, but it definitely happened...at least I think so. The images in the video were generated using AI. Why are some of the images in a cemetery? Well, I was thinking of "The Night Of The Living Dead" for no particular reason other than being a bit of a goth and also a horror film enthusiast, and I thought how about having a 1960s driverless vehicle next to a graveyard/cemetery in the pictures. That's it really. The power of AI along with my mind that has been corrupted by horror movies and the dark-side in general. If the licence holder wants me to remove this video please let me know.
