Significance & Outcomes of the 2025 Vatican Jubilee for Education

____ ACES Members Maria Nieves Tapia and Andy Furco discuss their participation experience, the significance and outcomes of the late 2025 Vatican Jubilee for Education convened by Pope Leo XIV. During that week, Pope Leo published the “Apostolic Letter” on Education, “Drawing New Maps of Hope”, on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Conciliar Declaration Gravissimum educationis. Nieves is known internationally for her work in service learning, youth engagement and her social justice perspective. She is the founder and director of the Latin American Center for Solidarity Service Learning (CLAYSS), Argentina, and a member of ACES Membership Committee. Andy is one of ACES’ founders and one of the authors of ACES’ first white paper “Faculty Engaged Scholarship: Setting Standards and Building Conceptual Clarity.” He is a professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development and directs the International Center for Research on Community Engagement, University of Minnesota, USA.
