Meet Melissa. She joined us for the March 2023 round of the Style Transformation. Melissa has worked in a number of creative industries over the years. She’s an amazing sewer and promotes fabric brands (you can check out her fab outfits in 35+ Where to Shop FB group). "I joined the Style Transformation because I love colour, I have a wardrobe that is full of colour (it looks like someone has vomited colour in my wardrobe). But what I was finding as I've gotten older, I was going more for paler colours because I had noticed that my skin tone had changed, you know, sort of soft, warm, muted colour tones, which made me feel a little invisible. I felt okay, but I just didn’t feel as good and vibrant or as true to myself as I think I could have been feeling. I felt very pretty, and I felt very feminine, and I felt very girly, and I think that is part of how I like to dress. But the edgy, groovy, hip, look-at-me stuff was falling by the wayside. So, I wanted to bring the two together. For me, style personality was a massive a-ha moment. It really is the number one thing that underpins every other choice that you make. Being able to consciously realise why you make those subconscious decisions for me was a huge one. Both in style personality but also in colour as well as print too. As a woman in her fifties, I think it's so important that we don't lose sight of ourselves.
