Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today on 8 December 2025. We begin today's video with the Augrabies Falls in full flood at 1610 cumecs in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa today. Good rains inland have caused the Vaal River and Orange River to increase flow over the last week or two. The Augrabies Falls is a must-see for this time of the year. It hailed and rained in Pretoria and Kimberley today. We then also attend the Muddy Princess at Sandringham Farm in Stellenbosch. We watch as ten penguins released this morning by Birdlife Pletttenberg Bay after months of rehabilitation. Fishermen at Fish Hoek this morning. A nyala bull was next to the road on the H4-1 near Lower Sabie Rest Camp in Kruger National Park today. We will also show you several other locations across South Africa today. The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows: Expect afternoon thunderstorms today to pop up across central and eastern parts of the country today, with some turning severe in places, while temperatures climb to warm and hot levels for most areas, though the western and southern interior will see extreme heat. The weather service has a Yellow Level 2 warning out for southwestern North West Province, central and eastern Free State Province, western KwaZulu-Natal Province, and east Mpumalanga, where storms could pack heavy rain leading to flooding on vulnerable roads and low-lying spots, frequent lightning strikes, minor hail, and gusty winds strong enough to cause damage. Fire danger is extremely great across most of the Northern Cape Province and western Eastern Cape Province, so avoid any outdoor burning and stay alert.
