The Perfect Start to the Year! | 7a Projecting in San Fratello, Sicily 🇮🇹 What a way to kick off the new year! We started our day driving through the rain, wondering if we’d even get to touch rock—but man, was it worth it. By the time we arrived at the stunning San Fratello crag in Sicily, the sun was out and it actually got pretty hot! I started the day warming up on a 5c and a 6a+ before heading into the main event: a beautiful 7a. After some technical tinkering, I finally found a beta that worked for me. I spent some time bouldering out the slabby sections at the top before Tobi and I both went for the Redpoint. As one of our followers mentioned, these might be "holiday grades"—the 6a+ felt quite sporty, but usually, I don’t send a 7a in a single day! Grades are always subjective and vary from region to region, but I’m incredibly happy regardless. After being sick for many days and feeling a bit "heavy" lately, this was the confidence boost I needed. Die 6a+ fand ich persönlich recht sportlich, aber eine 7a klettere ich normalerweise nicht mal eben an einem Tag. Bewertungen sind eben oft gebietsabhängig. Gefreut habe ich mich trotzdem riesig – vor allem, weil ich lange krank war und mich aktuell eigentlich zu schwer fühle.
