It’s Good Friday, and today kids will learn about the story of Jesus’ journey to the cross and his death. We will learn that while Good Friday is sad, it is also good because it’s a part of the grand story of Easter of how Jesus came to save us. Bible story came from Matthew 27: 22-66 Stay tuned for a special demonstration and fun and simple craft you can do at home. Below are the instructions so you can get ready ahead of time! GOOD FRIDAY DEMONSTRATION What you need: 3 disposable cups iodine bleach water Steps: 1. Fill one cup with a little bit of iodine 2. Fill the second cup less than half way with water 3. Fill the third cup less than half way with water 4. Fill the third cup with a bit of bleach to reach half way of the cup 5. When ready, pour the iodine (SIN) into the water (YOU). 6. Then pour the bleach water (GOD) into the water with iodine (YOU + SIN) 7. Explain to your children the impact of SIN and how our hearts are made clean when accepting GOD into our lives. GOOD FRIDAY CRAFT - Popsicles Cross What you need: Popsicles (or any sort of stick items you can find and use to make a cross) tape or glue yard if desired markers, paint, glitter, stickers etc. (whatever you can find) construction paper Steps: Tape or glue your 2 popsicle sticks to form a cross shape Reinforce the intersection with yarn that also decorates your cross Color your cross, add embellishments as desired Cut out a small heart, and write your child’s name on it Have child tape or glue the heart to the cross, wherever they’d like Display!
