A Bombolone (Pl. Bomboloni) is a beautiful Italian doughnut made with a soft yeast dough, fried, rolled in granulated sugar and then filled with your favourite pastry cream filling. In this case, a refreshing and light limoncello cream! However! I know frying at home can be daunting, so I also show you how to bake these bomboloni in an oven! The question is, which one tastes the best and is frying really worth the extra effort? Bombolone can be served for breakfast, as a dessert, or whenever you fancy! Espresso optional, but recommended.
