7:53 and already at 18 with his signature stiff staccato Allegro 7:42 Cadenza & W. signature stiff staccato 12:13 II MODLITWA-Larghetto Preghiera. 15:48 III Allegro- Rondo Henryk Wieniawski wrote this concerto in 14 days in OCTOBER of 1853 thanks to a very peculiar circumstances & Ferdinand David .He was only 18 years old.25 years later in 1878 Henryk wrote his Violin Concerto No.3 .Since then his concerto no.3 is missing ! Concerto No.1 Wieniawski wrote when he was scheduled to made his debut with Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra . From correspondence with its music director- Ferdinand David Wieniawski assumed that his Leipzig debut will be with Beethoven or Mendelssohn ( Brahms and Bruch didn't write their violin concertos yet). But 14 days before his concert a letter arrived from director of Gewandhaus ,that they unfortunately already scheduled both German violin concertos during their season . Ferdinand David-a great violinist himself who nota bene premiered Mendelssohn violin concerto 9 years earlier as a soloist with the same Gewandhaus Orchestra suggested that in this case Polish virtuoso may play maybe his own concerto ?! .Henryk didn't have one but his pride didn't let him to admit that and loose his debut in Lipsk! .So he composed it in 14 days !!!.Second movement is called Prayer because I think he was praying very hard to be able to finish orchestration on time. Concerto with God's help won hearts both public and critics in Leipzig. Also it was a great diplomatic /commercial move to dedicate it to King of Prussia . 18 years Polish old virtuoso from Lublin won hearts of Leipzig. In comparison Paganini composed his first Violin Concerto when he was already 37 years old. There is in Moscow Wieniawski's MANUSCRIPT OF CONCERTO NO 3 !!!! to be rediscover. ConcertoNo2 Henryk premiered under button of Anton Rubinstein in Saint Petersburg in 1862 at the Grand Gala for opening of the first in Russia Music Conservatory in Saint Petersburg which system of music education was created by Rubinstein & Wieniawski from scratch. Wieniawski in fact is a cofounder of St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music and back then become a pivotal person in Russia's music life. He established there fantastic Violin class where he was teaching and with his personal recommendation Leopold Auer was hired as Wieniawski's assistant. Leo Auer was pupil of Joseph Joachim , Joachim was pupil of Serwaczynski who was also Wieniawski first violin teacher .This Violin class established by Wieniawski with Auer as his assistant become in near future a ,,factory'' of many virtuosos including Jascha Heifetz and was a foundation of so called today Russian School of Violin Playing Anton Rubinstein become there composition and piano teacher and one of his students was Peter Ilych Tchaikovsky. ( Czajkowski) There is in Moscow Henryk Wieniawski's Violin CONCERTO NO 3 which vanished after its premiere in 1878 .It only needs serendipity to give wings to the Universe again . I strongly believe that against all odds, revolutions & wars , including this one, Wieniawski's Violin Concerto No.3 is still somewhere in Moscow ready to be play first time since December 27 1878. And there is no mistake as some people suggest . Why? Because of review in 1878 by a Russian music critic- Herman Laroche in Moscow newspaper after concert on Dec 27 1878 !!!In this story Herman Laroche is a very important person. Laroche was also present when Wieniawski played first time his Violin Concerto No.2 in 1862 for Grand Opening of first music conservatory in Russia just established by Anton Rubinstein and Henryk Wieniawski!! Wieniawski premiered back than his Violin Concerto no.2 under batton of Anton Rubinstein.Laroche was 17 years old! Not a child, but a young man old enough to remember which concerto was played. On top of it same Herman Laroche graduated from this institution - Saint Petersburg Conservatory of Music .So there is no mistake!Music critic with music degree present at both concerts premieres! Also in program for Russian Music Society it was written: Henryk Wieniawski Violin Concerto in A Minor ( FIRST TIME) a Allegro b Andante c Finale Allegro In Dec 1878 Wieniawski was already very sick and when his impresario run away with his money Wieniawski probably had a heart attack and without money was admitted to Maryjski Hospital for Poor in Moscow.Nobody thought about the concerto. When Nicolai Rubinstein found him he moved Wieniawski to Nadezhda von Meck Residence on Razdwanoskij or Razdwienkij Boulevard in Moscow. When sick in Nadezhda von Meck house Wieniawski was daily visited by his many friends in musical Russian world among them Nicolai Rubinstein and Leopold Auer - his former assistant from Saint Petersburg Conservatory of Music!
