Visual Configuration Management for CDF (Work Order Automation, Impact 2025)

In this short demo, we introduce Cognite’s new prototype for managing configuration across development, test and production in Cognite Data Fusion (CDF). You’ll see how this prototype brings the power of the Cognite Toolkit into a clear, governed interface that simplifies DataOps. We explore a real configuration (“Work Order Automation” in the Utilities domain): inspecting its extractors, staging tables, transformations, workflows, functions and data model; running validation to ensure consistency; executing a dry run to preview changes; deploying the configuration to development; and observing how the interface instantly updates environment status. We also show how easy it is to scaffold a new configuration from a template.
