“The Angel of 25th Street” might not be a widely familiar name in Utah; however, for Ogden communities, she was a light of hope. Mary Nakaishi was also known as “Mama Uke” during her years in Ogden. During the 1940s to 1970s, she and her husband helped the struggling and less fortunate get back on their feet.
