G-type is a fan game created by CnC Darkside and its game elements is based on Gradius, R-type and Darius. You pilot the R9A - Arrowhead ship using the Gradius powerup system instead of the instant pickup system used in the R-type series. Read the Easy route description if you are interested in the storyline. Download G-type at: www.acid-play.com/download/g-type Stage 1 : Space Satellite Metropolis This time the stage starts off underneath the Space station, but enters midway through the area. Nothing else has changed except for more enemies. Boss: Dual Big Core Same as before except Dual Big Core now moves as it shoots close range. Stage 2: Asteroid Belt There is an increase in asteroids and the stage is slightly different. The asteroid storm has also increased in speed and quantity, so three speedups is recommended to avoid crashing into them. Boss: Gravity Core No big difference in its attack/moving pattern. I also discovered that reflex laser is unaffected by the Gravity Cores control of gravity. Stage 3: Boss on Parade More zubs. I also forgot to mention on the normal route description that the bosses featured here are bosses that appeared in G-Darius. Boss 1: Fossil Golem Fire bullets from its mouth, but no other changes are made. Boss 2: Twin Metalshell Death Core It mimics the Big Core MK.III more closely than it did on normal. It includes the ability to change its laser pattern and closing the other layers to restrict movement. Boss 3: Lizard Sword Lizard Sword fires the laser stream attack more frequently, but no other changes are made. Boss 4: Tetran Mist Its has now gained the ability to reverse the blades in opposite directions and fires more blue lights. Boss 5: Mother Bybo The duration of the barriers doesn't last as long as before, but the movement patterns of the eyes has been doubled. Stage 4: Plant of Bydo A new stage that features dead ends, limited space for movement during most of the beginning and mid-section of the area and duckers that spawn infinitely from above the stage. Boss: Scrap Wall A gunwall with no guns, but instead has arms that can protect its core by placing scraps of metal in front of its barriers. It can attack by throwing scrap metal and extending its arms to grab the ship. The larger scrap metal can be destroyed while the smaller ones can not be destroyed or blocked by the force or bits. The boss battle also features duckers that spawn from behind at both the ceiling and floor sections. Stage 5: Enemy Fortress The same speed stage as normal route except with more enemies that can kill you if not dealt with early. Boss: Final Guard The turrets on the gunwall can now spawn infinitely and the amount of zubs that spawn have been doubled. The Final Attack! Duckers now spawn behind you while the pillars move faster than before. Boss: Bio Computer The random attack ring around the boss spins alot faster which matches the speed used on hard mode in Contra 3: The Alien Wars. All the attacks it has gain improvements which can be deadly if you're using the Gradius button layout like I did instead of the R-type layout which can counter the attacks used. The Final Escape! The final boss has transformed into a brain golem, it can't be destroyed and the base is blowing up with both of you still inside. The solution? Stall or avoid the final boss until R-9Ø Ragnarok arrives and shoves a mega wave cannon up the boss's nonexistent asshole!
