Sonic boom compilation with vapor cone and sonic boom explained. Why do a “halo” appear when a fighter jet creates a “sonic boom”? Amazingly, at sea level , jet aircraft can travel faster than sound, or roughly 1,192 km/h (741 mph). Occasionally, they produce an odd halo surrounding them that resembles a white ring or cone when they do this. This phenomena, also referred to as a shock collar or vapor cone, is caused by the sonic boom that the airplane generates. That "strange halo" you're referring to is actually called a vapor cone or shock collar. It's a fascinating phenomenon that occurs when an aircraft breaks the sound barrier. Sonic Boom: When a jet surpasses the speed of sound, it creates a shock wave. This is the infamous "sonic boom" we hear. As an object approaches the speed of sound, the sound waves it produces start to pile up in front of it. When the object finally breaks the sound barrier, these sound waves combine to form a shock wave. This shock wave is what we hear as a sonic boom. Pressure Drop: The shock wave causes a sudden drop in air pressure and temperature around the aircraft. Water Condensation: The rapid decrease in temperature causes the water vapor in the air to condense into tiny water droplets. Vapor Cone Formation: These water droplets form a visible cloud, shaped like a cone around the aircraft, following the contours of the shock wave. This vapor cone is temporary and disappears quickly as the air returns to its normal state. background music : alexander-nakarada-superepic(chosic.com) FAIR-USE COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMER Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, commenting, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
