In this video, I dive into the repair of a seriously old Rational 202G combi oven that had sprung a leak and soaked just about everything below the burner assembly. After unplugging all suspect components during my initial visit, the customer finally approved the estimate—which included a blower, burner blower, ignition control, and gas valve. Honestly, I was nervous. Everything had been exposed to water, and I wasn’t sure what I’d be walking into. But after replacing the inspection lid gasket (aka the leak point) and plugging everything back in, something unexpected happened… NO error codes. This beast fired right up and ran flawlessly! That’s right—no parts needed after all, and I was able to send everything back, saving the customer a chunk of change. I don’t believe in the parts cannon unless absolutely necessary. This is why you test, double-check, and take your time before replacing components. Have you ever run into a situation like this? Let me know what you'd do in the comments!
