Did you know that in the UK, lack of woodland management is one of the eight biggest drivers of species decline? This #BiodiversityDay, we're celebrating our incredible #WilderBlean project. See some of our team explaining why biodiversity is so important and how introducing European bison, Exmoor ponies and Iron-Age pigs to West Blean and Thornden Woods will create a healthy and biodiverse haven for wildlife and people. 'Ecosystem engineers' like bison help to restore the biodiversity of a landscape; their natural behaviours like grazing, dust bathing, eating bark and felling trees alter the landscape to allow a greater range of species to thrive.
