PATERSON TO HOST BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION Four African-American leaders will be honored. Paterson, NJ— Friday, February 20, 2026, Mayor Andre Sayegh will host a Black History Month Celebration to honor outstanding individuals for their significant contributions to the Paterson community. The event will showcase their achievements and celebrate the vital role of Black history and culture in shaping Paterson. Honorees Include: Senator Benjie Wimberly, 35th Legislative District - State Senator representing New Jersey’s 35th Legislative District, known for his long career in public service, education, and community leadership. Firefighter Ray Dean, Paterson Fire Department - A dedicated firefighter recognized for his courage, commitment to public safety, and service to his community. Officer Latrenta Grayson, Paterson Police Department - A dedicated police officer committed to protecting her community and serving with integrity and professionalism. Tawanna Dickson, DPW Principal Account Clerk - A committed leader who works tirelessly to serve her community with integrity and purpose.
