West Kootenays, British Columbia - bikepacking and packrafting Arrow and Slocan lakes

A 5 day West Kootenay bikerafting route that I did at the end of June. The route started in South Slocan, near Nelson British Columbia and headed west to Sunshine Bay Rec Site on Lower Arrow Lake. From there I paddled and rode North to Edgewood, then continued up Whatshan Lake, around Saddle Mountain past the Arrow Park ferry and paddled across the lake to McDonald Creek. From there I went up McDonald/Shannon FSR over to Wragge Beach and finished by paddling Slocan Lake to New Denver. The route could then be completed by riding the highway to the Slocan Rail Trail and finishing back in South Slocan. Five days, enough challenge to make you feel like you did something but not so hard that it is a miserable suffer fest, as long as the weather cooperates.
