When I did my video converting a vintage road bike to a single speed. I got a bunch of people asking why I didn't just add 10mm of spacers behind the freewheel to adjust the chainline, instead of the involved process of respacing the hub axle and redishing the wheel. So in this video I test the idea of adding 10mm of spacers behind the freewheel to adjust the chainline. Spoiler alert, it won't work. At most, you might put spacers for 1 or 2mm. The more space they take up, the less threads there are for the freewheel and the more likely it's going to tear off. I did find a little adpater that screws onto the hub, and then the freewheel screws on to the adapter. It moves the freewheel over my 12mm. I have not tried it. https://www.ebikekit.com/products/fre...
