This composition, Klibanophoros: The Iron Pulse, strips away the liturgical chants of the cathedrals and replaces them with the rhythmic thunder of the Davul and the piercing cry of the Byzantine Lyra. This is the sound of the Cataphracts—the armored fist of Constantinople—preparing for a siege on the Anatolian frontier. Using authentic historical instruments like the Tsambouna bagpipes and Saz, we have reconstructed a soundscape of "War-Folk" that captures the grit, gold, and blood of the medieval Romans. The lyrics are written in authentic Attic and Homeric Greek, calling upon the eternal glory (Kydos) of those who fight in the fire.
