Hello. I don't normally make videos so many apologies for the amateur quality of this video. I wanted to share my disappointing experience with the Bridge City HP-12 and help others make an informed decision about acquiring one. TLDW: I don't want anyone else to have their hopes dashed as much as mine were on such an expensive plane by Bridge City Tools. While it is absolutely gorgeous, the quality of the planes' sole is horrendous. It appears to have been sanded with a 100 something grit belt sander that was not parallel with the plane. The new Bridge City Tool (Harvey Industries) does not represent the quality they claim they do all over their website or that Bridge City Tools was once known before being purchased by Harvey Industries. They also do not appear to know how planes work -- their response to my concerns about the soles quality was that it was working as intended and they roughen it up to help with the wax... as if a a rough plane with wax would be better than a smooth plane with wax. Also, the blade edge of the primary blade arrived with dents on both sides of the blade.
