In a new interview, Novak Djokovic has said he would rather miss out on future tennis trophies than be forced to get a Covid vaccine. He stated that he was never against vaccinations and even had them when he was a child, but yet has “always supported the freedom to choose what you put in your body.” It comes after he was initially given an exemption to travel to Australia ahead of the Australian Open (despite not having a Covid vaccine) earlier this year, but was ultimately deported after his exemption sparked controversy. As an international sport star, should Djokovic recognise that he is a role model and lead by example? Or should he be allowed to sacrifice his morals for the greater good?
