South Coast Rail Train Testing: Day 1 - Middleboro - New Bedford, MA - 6/17/2024

6/17/2024 marked the first day of extensive testing of the South Coast Rail system in advance of next year's planned opening. There have been a few tests over the course of the past couple years but these MBTA consists will now be the new norm running over the lines over the next several months. The first day of testing consisted of operating a trainset from Middleboro to the New Bedford line where they tested crossings/signals at different speeds. This video follows them to a few spots throughout the day at locations in Middleboro, Taunton, Berkley, Freetown, Lakeville, and New Bedford, MA. New rotem cars and a HSP46 was the consist.
