This completed cancelled N64 became available a few days ago, I started playing and recorded one of my attempts on Hard difficulty with default settings, I found out there is a translation but I was already done with this by that point, I skipped the in-game intermissions too There are no score extends, I still don't know exactly how the left option on stage select opens but I think it's based on hits taken during the "danger" sections where the camera switches in each level, some seemed more lenient than others, I usually tried to defeat every enemy possible to be safe restarting the level from pause, or dying on the boss seemed to open up the left route anyway? Not sure Had mode really ramps up enemy projectiles and makes bosses an ordeal, I had a lot of fun with the challenge though, it only took 5 hours to get this run, I did all routes since then completing the game once unlocks boss rush, with all bosses being significantly buffed even compared to hard difficulty, you don't get powerups or health refills normally instead broken boss parts can randomly drop any powerup. beating this doesn't do anything and there is nothing at the end, it just saves your score beating every stage and getting every ending also does something but I won't spoil, maybe doing so on hard unlocked another extra but I'm not sure if that was required Overall this is a very good game, I'm thankful to anyone involved in finding and releasing this, it took 8 hours to 100% and I'd gladly do so again Played on an original N64 console with flash cart (ED64 fake everdrive clone cart) it seemed to boot just fine on this but I set it to "force EEP4K" anyway just to be safe, others seem to indicate you need it to save this way to run on flash carts, other than that it will run and play perfectly on console
